Spices, quotes and other things.

Spices, quotes and other things.

Welcome to the April 23rd version of Thursday Thunks!
(which we always seem to post on Wednesday)
Where we make you think a little bit before you blog!

We pick a subject, and your job is to interpret it anyway you want. Write about it on your blog... simple as that. Maybe you can interpret it as a picture - we don't care!
Please only leave a link if you have written a Thursday Thunks post. Please mention us in your post, and link back to the blog here.
Don't forget to go visit the other participants' blogs. Read and comment about all their Thursday Thunks! Thats what all this is about afterall, isn't it? We'll have so much fun and become lifelong friends....

This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by Berleen, the color eggshell and the number 101.

1. If you could skywrite anything you wanted, what would it be? hmm....I want to write a shameless plug for my blog (hey, we all like traffic to our blogs!!) AND if it wasn't around one of my children birthdays I would probably write "Jesus Saves"
But...is that what I wrote?
Nope...
Photobucket

2. Did you get drunk at your prom?

Prom **scratches head** Ummm, we kinda had a prom if you count the dance after we graduated. I remember that night very well...my dad gave me 4 light beers and told me not to drink them all in one place!! LOL!

3. What is your favorite spice to use cooking?
Mmmmm Garlic!!

4. What color is your roof?

Grayish black shingles.

5. In a land far, far away I _____________

met the most incredible man. He swept me off my feet with his unconditional love...

6. In the Miss USA pageant, Miss California was asked; "Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit? Why or why not?" and her answer was; "Well I think it's great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. Um, we live in a land that you can choose same sex marriage or opposite marriage and, you know what, in my country and in, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman," Carrie said to a mix of boos and applause. "No offense to anybody out there. But that's how I was raised and that's how I think that it should be between a man and a woman."
Do you think that cost her the crown?

NOPE...she has her own opinion and shouldn't be judged if someone doesn't agree with it not matter how controversial. (but I think she is RIGHT!! Adam and Eve People..not Adam and Steve!!)

7. Do you watch Miss USA/Miss America pageants?

I have..in the past.

8. Have you ever driven/ridden on a tractor?

Well, I have lived in ooodles of small towns so the chance was always there and yes, yes I did ride on a tractor!

9. For the parents - what cartoon/children show did your child watch obsessively? (Hey, if you aren't a parent, maybe a niece or nephew...)
Giggles loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Fan!!

Mr.D is a hardcore "Thomas the Tank engine" fan

And even though this technically isn't a cartoon I couldn't just leave out Niffy Nunu and her fascination with "Twilight"

10. If I set a level on your living room floor - would it show that it was level?

It sure the heck better be level..we paid for a square level house when we purchased it!!

11. What was the last restaurant you ate at?

"The Keg" Mmm...steak!

12. What's the picture on your wall calendar for this month? I use the iCalendar on the mac..no pictures..boring!! I know..but we always loose the "real"

13. Are you superstitious?

Nope...

14. If I get into your car and turn on the radio - what type of radio station will I hear?

depends on the mood that I am in..either Top 40 or talk radio.
I know..BIG difference but sometimes I want to be entertained and other times I want my brain to be engaged in something other than fluff.

15. Would you rather wake up with a snake in your bed or a lizard?

Ummm..eww..but I would say Lizard..at least they are a little cuter!

16. Do you think schools have changed at all since the Columbine tragedy 10 years ago? In what ways?

Yep, and not in a good way.
Security guards patrolling the schools, security cameras, lock downs..that just screams like a safe learning environment. And people wonder why I am looking into homeschooling!!

I'm curious, why don't you believe people should be judged for their opinions? Seems to me that if you are going to form a judgment about another person, the single best thing to form that judgment around is their opinions. People are free to choose their opinions, right or wrong, however racist or discriminatory they may be, and why the heck shouldn't we judge them?
